Studies in Historical Sources

Studia Źródłoznawcze. Commentationes [Commentationes. Studies in the Criticism of Historical Sources] is a journal published by the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IH PAS) in co-edition with the Institute of History PAS Foundation, focused on auxiliary sciences of history and studies of historical sources, i.e. classification of sources, research methods and criticism specific to particular types of sources, and the editing of historical sources from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century. The Journal publishes studies and articles, critical editions of small historical sources, reviews and critical notes on recent publications relevant to the Journal’s field of study, and scientific chronicles.

In recent years, Studia Źródłoznawcze participated in the ‘Support for Scientific Journals’ programme of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and in the 2-year Ministry project ‘Development of scientific journals’.

All of the Journal publications are published free of charge, without publication fees or article processing charges (APC). The Journal is financed by the State budget.

Points awarded for publication: 100 points (based on the list of scored journals of 5 Jan. 2024).
